Particularly on board of ships in applications in which the heavy bronze integral yoke and bonnet valves are not considered to be the most suitable because of their sizes and weights, but in which the requirements of the classification societies, which in certain cases require a locking device of a screwed-in bonnet, have to be taken into account. In the valves according to the figures as below, an adequate locking has been established by giving the female thread of the union ring a different pitch than the male thread with which the bonnet is screwed into the body.
