The engine indicators are the pressure measuring instruments for reciprocating engines. They record the pressure change in the cylinders of internal combustion engines, reciprocating steam engines and gas or air compressors. The results are used for checking uniform and efficient performance of each cylinder, thus to assess the engine characteristics and to calculate the generated horse-power.
