In filling and emptying all kinds of water reservoirs, bilge pumping of ships, raising thick liquids such as mash in breweries, ooze, flushing and soaking in lye. They operate without valves, even without any moving parts. Suction head : 4 – 6 meters (Depending on the temperature and the specific gravity of the liquid that is to be raised.) Discharge head : 10 – 40 meters (In accordance with the steam pressure 3 – 10 bar) In case of a high discharge head, the equipment should be set up below the lowest water level. Sharp curves in the pipe should be avoided. At putting it into operation, the steam valve initially has to be opened slowly, but as soon as the liquid has been drawn in, the steam valve has to be fully opened quickly. Capacities : The capacities given below apply at a steam pressure of 5 bar, with cold water at a difference in height of about 10 metres.
