Successfully applied for starting up centrifugal pumps which is done much faster this way than by pouring water into the pump housing. Good results are not only achieved with steam pressure, but with air and water pressure as well. Air pressure, however, cannot be used for raising water, because air does not mix with water. Air is only applied for discharging gasses and for creating a partial vacuum.
