A coating for the prevention of damage to the heat exchanger tube plate and tubes. The coating consists of a synthetic rubber which is superior in its resistance to heat, seawater and galvanic corrosion, hardner and thinner. It has strong adhesion to copper metal, especially naval brass. The combination of rust preventing coat and insert tube can satisfactory prevent serious damage to both tube plate tubes.
